Songwriting Basics for Music Educators

Music Will and Songwriting for Music Educators have partnered to bring you a course designed to empower music educators to not only write their own songs and explore their creativity, but also to empower them to help their students engage in the craft of songwriting. 

Kat Reinhert

Kat Reinhert is a songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, producer, author, and educator whose work spans performance, recording, publishing, and teaching. She has released fifteen independent projects, collaborated with numerous artists and songwriters, and written for Sesame Street. Reinhert has authored, edited, and co-authored several books, including How to Release Music, Songwriting for Music Educators, and Action Based Approaches in Popular Music Education. She is a Professor of Songwriting at Berklee College of Music and co-founder of SFME.

Sarah Gulish

Sarah Gulish is an Assistant Professor of Music Education at West Chester University and was a public high school teacher for 16 years. She is an active songwriter and musician, performing original music with her band, New Enemies, and composing and writing for film and musical theater. She is the co-founder and CEO of the music education publishing company, F-flat Books, and is on a mission to empower music educators to create and collaborate to involve all learners in a quality music education.
