Songwriting Cohort Series
The Songwriting Cohort Series is a two-part virtual learning experience designed to help music educators build confidence writing songs and helping students write their own creative process. Powered by Shedthemusic's Shed Studio, participants start creating right away, learning skills in small steps and applying them as their songs develop.
Key Features & Schedule
Live Virtual Sessions (Zoom):
- Session 1: November 17, 2026 | 6:30–7:30 PM CST
- Session 2: January 19, 2027 | 6:30–7:30 PM CST
Asynchronous Learning: This asynchronous program consists of two PD sessions, each containing nine 1-hour activities. The entire course takes approximately 18 hours to complete. Participants are encouraged to interact as much as their schedules allow throughout the school year.
Community Collaboration: Share drafts, exchange peer feedback, and adapt project plans for your specific classroom needs in our dedicated community space.

Capstone Project
Culminate your experience at the Music Will 2027 Songwriting Exhibition, where you are invited to showcase your original work or highlight your students' creative projects.
